Counselling & Psychotherapy for Adults and Young People in Hanwell, West London
I’m Cally…
I’m an experienced psychotherapist with over 10 years of clinical experience working with adults and young people in a wide range of settings. I’m warm, down-to-earth and bring creativity, curiosity and experience to my work. I bring who I am into the room too. This might mean offering challenge or a different perspective, helping you make connections and gain insight, and sometimes, when it feels right, there’s room for humour too.
I believe the relationship we develop in therapy is the most important part of the work. My training is person-centred, which remains at the heart of my practice. I also draw on attachment and trauma theory, including an understanding of survival strategies and body-based approaches. I aim to create a space where you can be open about what is really going on, without feeling judged or needing to have everything worked out before you arrive.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in media and then spent 15 years working with children and young people. My experience in the corporate world and within education has stayed with me and continues to shape the way I work. I’ve now worked therapeutically with adults and young people for over 10 years, across private practice, education, the charitable sector and specialist settings. Alongside my private practice, I work as a Therapeutic Lead within a specialist education provision, managing a team of therapists and mental health professionals working with young people with complex presentations. I also sit on the supervisors panel for a youth charity. I’m a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist with an MSc in person-centred psychotherapy, alongside further training in trauma therapy, creative approaches and clinical supervision.
